A Path to Holistic Awakening and Inner Mastery

Origins of Sattva Yoga
Sattva Yoga was developed by Anand Mehrotra, a modern spiritual master born and raised in Rishikesh, India—the birthplace of yoga. Raised in the Vedic and yogic traditions, Anand was guided from a young age by Himalayan masters. His teachings are a dynamic synthesis of ancient scriptures, personal realization, and global insight.

The Sattva Yoga teachings preserve the depth of traditional yogic wisdom while making it accessible and relevant to the challenges of modern life. Anand believes that yoga is not about escape, but about full engagement with life through a higher perspective.

Core Components of Sattva Yoga Teachings
The Sattva Yoga teachings include a broad range of practices that work together to activate the full human potential:

Kriya Yoga:
Powerful energy movements that combine breath, sound, and posture to purify the nervous system, release blockages, and raise consciousness. These practices are unique to the Sattva system and are central to the transformation process.

Pranayama (Breathwork):
Breath is seen as the bridge between body and mind. Through advanced breathing techniques, practitioners balance their energy, calm the mind, and expand awareness.

Meditation:
A wide range of meditation practices are offered to quiet the mind and help individuals experience their true Self. Sattva teaches that meditation is not a practice to add peace—it is the discovery of the peace that is already within.

Asana (Postures):
Movement is used not just to stretch or strengthen the body, but to open energy pathways, release emotional tension, and prepare the body for deeper states of meditation.

Mantra and Nada (Sound):
Sound and vibration are essential tools in the Sattva Yoga teachings. Mantras are used to elevate consciousness, while music and chanting support emotional healing and spiritual expansion.
